Event Details

The only distance running event in the world on an active Space Center, the 2nd Annual Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Foundation Half Marathon kicks off on Sunday, November 10, 2019. The race occurs on Veterans Day and is a salute to the military’s role in space and our freedom.

Benefiting the 150-year-old Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Foundation, this event will take runners and walkers behind the secured gates of the Air Force Station and not only past launch pads, monuments and relics of the Air Force’s and NASA’s pioneering manned and unmanned space program but also into its future passing by the Blue Origin launch complex and Space X operations.
Entrants will at the same time pass through the “Real Florida” where much of the land and surrounding areas remain the same as they were more than six decades ago when Cape Canaveral was chosen as America’s Space Base.

The event is open to the public with military discounts and divisions, and a fabulous post-race celebration in the shadow of our Cape Canaveral Lighthouse! And, you can climb the Lighthouse and visit the newly reconstructed Keeper Quaters!
